By looking into the creature's history and snooping, Nancy discovers that Linda thinks she is turning into a werewolf. Using the Penvellyn family crest, Nancy opens the passage in question and discovers a strange curse etched above a door. When she mentions that she found a secret passageway Linda warns Nancy that "she'll be cursed, too." Nancy pressures Linda into revealing that she found a secret passage of her own by playing around with a gargoyle in the hallway. She soon solves the puzzle and learns of a secret passageway in the Manor's East Hall.Īs the suspects slowly begin to reveal their own dark secrets, Nancy talks to Linda. He has equipped it with a strange "find-the-ghost" game, making Nancy dash about the mansion looking for glowing ghost cutouts when she enters the computer's password. It isn't long before Nancy's inquisitive nature kicks in, and she discovers an old computer belonging to Jane's grandfather. She also has many games and puzzles in a hope chest in her room, and is excited for Nancy to become her new playmate.Īs Nancy explores the mansion, she also encounters Ethel Bosinny, an elusive woman who is Jane's tutor, and Nigel Mookerjee, who is working on a book about the Penvellyn family history. She is Linda's stepdaughter, and loves the supernatural world. Instead, Nancy meets up with another character - Jane Penvellyn. Nancy tries to talk to Linda, but she refuses to come out, lamenting with words that make no sense to the girl detective. Her fears are assuaged by the no-nonsense Mrs. Upon Nancy's arrival, spooky things start happening right away - she hears a strange whisper that says her name and sees a huge pair of glowing red eyes staring at her through the night. She asks for Nancy to go to the mysterious Blackmoor Manor, a massive mansion rising from the depths of a murky British bog in the middle of a desolate area. Linda's mother knows Carson Drew, Nancy's father, and wants to find a cure. Linda has taken to hiding behind a curtain in bed all day long, snapping orders and acting erratically. Treasure in a Royal Tower - it's pretty much a tie between this and Mesage in a Haunted Mansion but I give this an edge because this was the first game I completed, and the plot was developed so well. Thought the ending was really cool and thought the characters were fun. Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon - I really liked that most of the game takes place on a train, and enjoyed the puzzles. The character interactions, the plot, and the focus on snooping and characters instead of straight puzzles all made it a really fun game. Enjoyed the word puzzles, the expanding areas to explore, the minigame, and I seem to find something new every time I play.Īlibi in Ashes: switching characters is clunky, and the ending puzzle wasn't fun for me, but I liked everything else. Tomb of the Lost Queen: the ending puzzle stinks, and I don't care for the alien subplot but I liked everything else. And with the phone characters, the world felt a lot bigger. Secret of the Scarlet Hand: love the ending, the museum tasks, the plot. Wish there could be a little bit more development with the characters, but I still love this game! Love the family history and games and most of the puzzles. This game reminds me of the classic, older games - a very underrated gem!Ĭurse of Blackmoor Manor: the locations in this game are gorgeous, from the conservatory to the hallways. The minigames are fun and the outdoor locations and tunnels are cool. The Captive Curse: I enjoy the character interactions, I thought the plot was enjoyable, especially in the way it leaves some things open-ended.
